Waterlands Park Stud was established in
1996, situated on the outskirts of the stunning village of Bradworthy
in North Devon on the Cornish border. Our team consists of mainly
family, and part time extended family members, we all have a purpose
in the yard.
Lisa, the boss, runs the yard and does the Foaling, Mucking out,
Breaking, Schooling, Sweeping, Shoveling, Riding and generally
running the office and paperwork and come the summer works in
conjunction with our vets as a qualified AI technician achieving
the one thing that keeps us all going, getting the Mares in foal.
Mum and Dad are Banker and lastly Husband does anything, (well
most of the time).
Here at Waterlands we have a philosophy of only using proven competition
mares, unless injury has prevented, with consolidated bloodlines
in our breeding programme updating our mares regularly. We still
have our trusty older breeding/riding Mares who are still producing
superb Foals. Each of our mares have a year out, where they can
be ridden or just play nanny to the other youngsters.
Our aim is to breed the modern sports horse of today. We combine
bloodlines with the most basic of traits a nice trainable temperament
and friendly, willing nature.
We started breeding TB's, and producing competition horses, then
by adding more top class European Warmblood Mares and some fantastic
Ponies, we strive to breed what is required of today's modern
sports horse and competition Pony.
All our Mares and Stallions are graded within their relevant studbook,
including "The Boy" Dice
who won his grading with the BWBS, and won the supreme championship
overall.
Dice's oldest offspring are 4 year olds and many have already
qualified and have won or been placed in championship classes.
Under saddle, they are starting their competition careers in all
disciplines including BYEH, BD young horse classes BSJA, and showing
classes.
Dice has also produced a licensed Stallion Wild
One who graded with the BWBS and graded Mares.

We only use natural horsemanship on our horses (Well 99% of the
time). We teach all our horses to love and trust humans, be well
mannered and have a mutual respect from day one. This enables
them to go out into the big wide world with confidence, they generally
ease into their new life easily.
Many of the horses we have sold have been by word of mouth and
a lot of our owners return to us or recommend us to a friend when
selecting their new horse. We like to keep in contact with all
our owners and often have E-mails letting us know how their new
baby or 6 year old are getting on.

unit and stallion collection centre. Lisa is a DEFRA approved
AI technician, who works in conjunction with a team of experienced
